Anne Normoyle
Team Leader Fashion and Interior Design
Anne currently leads the TAFE NSW Sydney region Creative and Design Ideation Teams for Fashion Design, Fashion Technology, Interior Design and Photography. She graduated from FDS and held senior design roles before changing direction and studying fashion marketing and merchandising at Parsons School of Design in New York. She also holds a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Business Administration and currently sits on the executive committee of the International Foundation of Fashion Technology Institutes (IFFTI) representing Oceanic region. Anne has worked in various aspects of fashion education since 1990. She has extensive experience in fashion curriculum development and a personal interest in tribal textiles.
Andrea Cainero
Head Teacher
Andrea has extensive experience in the Fashion Design Industry. With a background in design, she also works as a freelance stylist and costume designer. Having worked mostly in the music industry dressing the likes of Connie Mitchell from Sneaky Sound System, the Hilltops Hoods and Lisa Mitchell, she is most well known for her work as the costume designer for flamboyant electro pop group Empire of the Sun. She has an eye for detail and brings a flexibility of design to her classes, working towards constantly improving and marketing the Fashion Design Studio.
Janna Madorski
Head Teacher
After completing a degree in Engineering in Russia, Janna changed her career focus gaining qualifications in Fashion Design, Fine Art, and Digital Media. Her professional career spanned fashion/textile design and information technology. In 2005 she established her own multimedia company whilst lecturing at the Design Centre Enmore. Janna’s holds a Master of Design in Techno Textile, where she developed an innovative design solution in the area of Biomimicry Design, which is subject to a patent application.
Janna’s current interest are in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary design. She was nominated as a finalist in Alexander McQueen’s Smirnoff Design Competition.

Alex Zehntner
Design
Alex is a senior design lecturer with professional experience in fashion design, branding and event management. Completing fashion and design study at the East Sydney Technical College and the College of Fine Arts, at the University of NSW.
Alex has extensive experience working with leading Australian fashion companies such as Tarocash, Myers, David Jones and Sportsgirl. A move toward branding has allowed him to work with some of Australia's most dynamic production companies and all the major Australian Networks (7, 9, 10, ABC & SBS). He has Art Directed television shows since 2005, including Australian Princess, Beauty and the Geek and Australia's Next Top Model.
Alex has mentored and nurtured the talent of some of Australia’s top up and coming designers including Dion Lee, Karla Spetic, and Michael Lo Sordo
Narelle Jordan
Textile Design
Narelle is a textile design lecturer and subject area lead for the surface textiles elective stream in the Bachelor of Fashion Design. Narelle is a practicing textile designer specialising in hand screen-printed, hand dyed and manipulated techniques for fashion fabrics. Narelle graduated with an honours degree in Fashion & Textile Design from UTS and postgraduate qualifications from the Textiles Workshop at the Australian National University where she undertook extensive research into specialised screen printing processes. With over twenty years of experience, Narelle offers students a broad range of innovative and experimental skills in fashion print design and surface decoration.
Raquel Mazzina
Illustration & Fashion Design
Raquel teaches illustration and design and is a specialist teacher in life drawing. Raquel graduated from East Sydney Technical College and worked as a fashion designer prior to furthering her education in the field of Fine Arts, studying at The National Art School, Darlinghurst (Bachelor of Fine Arts 1999).
Raquel is an active practicing artist whose work is housed in private collections both nationally and internationally and exhibited across Australia. She has received numerous awards for her work including the National Art School Paris residency.
She has taught over the past 2 decades in the fields of Fashion Design and Fine arts in the areas of design, drawing and painting at The Fashion Design Studio, Enmore Design Centre, St. George (Sydney Institute TAFE) and The National Art School
Ameli TAnchitsa
Digital Visualisation & Illustration
Ameli was a co-founder of MAD CORTES, a multi-award winning Australian Fashion Label 2000-2008. He joined the FDS team in 2008 to provide direction to computer aided design and illustration. Having training in both Visual Arts and Computer Graphics, Ameli explores the space where technical precision meets creative visualisation and where two fields complement each other in context of fashion design process.
Holly Siles
Illustration & Fashion Design
Bachelor Fashion & Textile Design Sydney College of the Arts [now UTS], where she won two national ‘Designer of the Year’ competitions and one runner up award.
Holly worked in fashion industry as a designer for total of 18 years in a variety of sections within the industry; crossing over from directional daywear, where she was nominated as a finalist in FIA Awards for both daywear and evening wear categories before moving into product development in daywear and then into customised clothing with private clients.
This broad range of experience has enabled Holly to bring a breadth and depth of knowledge to the classroom as a teacher of fashion design and illustration.
During her period as a teacher she has won The Premier Scholarship Award, for best teaching practices, which enabled her to spend 5 weeks in New York studying at Fashion Institute of New York, updating her skills in CAD & live fashion drawing, colour theory, history of fashion in the renowned FIT Fashion Museum accessing the archives and visiting Parsons New School of Design and fashion studios of industry icons such as; Ralph Lauren, Theory, Helmut Lang and Alice and Olivi.
Kaylene Elizabeth Milner
Fashion Design Foundation
After graduating from the Fashion Design Studio in 2011, Kaylene went on to launch her namesake label at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia. Her focus on artisanal craftsmanship earnt the praise of Australian Designers Akira Isogawa and Alex Perry, who presented Kaylene with the Fashion Future Scholarship to live and work in New York where she gained experience at both Diane Von Furstenberg design studio and Fashion Snoops trend forecasting agency. Upon returning to Australia in 2013, she joined the Fashion Design Studio team as a design teacher.
Kaylene’s love of design is matched equally with her passion for music. She has toured internationally as a trumpeter with jazz and classical groups, drummed in local punk bands, and DJ’d at underground events. A love of music has always infused her design approach and aesthetic, but this was fully realised in 2015 when she launched cult knitwear brand, “WAH-WAH
Kam Wong
Technical Assistant
As Technical Assistant – Design I am responsible for liaising with the teachers to organise & prepare all the equipment & materials needed for class practical work according to the course requirements. I look after the sewing, cutting and pressing equipment so that it is available for use by students, and I establish and maintain the procedures for the safe use of the equipment. Several time a year I work with the student and staff to organise and run the fashion parades and certificate presentation events. When time allows, I complete research into the uses of new equipment and the handling of innovative fabrics and accessories.
Hilary Davidson
Fashion History
Hilary Davidson is a dress and textile historian and curator. After training as a shoemaker, including Certificate qualifications from TAFE Sydney, she moved to Britain where she achieved an MA in the history of textiles and dress (University of Southampton, 2005). After some years as curator of fashion and decorative arts at the Museum of London, Hilary returned to Sydney, where she is an Honorary Research Associate at the University of Sydney, teaches fashion history at FDS and NIDA, is undertaking a PhD at La Trobe, Melbourne, and is finishing a book on Regency fashion (Yale University Press, 2019). Hilary has published and lectured extensively in her field, including at the University of Cambridge, the University of Glasgow, Central St Martins (University of the Arts London), and the American University, Paris (full publications here) [Janna/Ameli can you put a hyperlink with this URL please https://sydney.academia.edu/HilaryDavidson]. She also sews reconstruction historic clothing as a research practice, meaning she knows her subject inside out, down to the threads.

Pattern Making
I have worked in the fashion industry for 14 years, my experience throughout the fashion world was of a patternmaker working for major companies such as Apparel Group (Sports Fashion), Bonds, Depict and Trackmaster.
I have been teaching since 2002 with The Fashion Design Studio department of TAFE, where all my Industrial experiences came to use, patternmaking, fitting, sewing , fabric cutting, and grading. I also have been working for the past year with the Fashion Design & Technology department of TAFE.
My experiences working at TAFE is to watch students grow over the years of studying and knowing I have contributed in some way with their learnings.
